Derbyshire Peaks & Dales – Ronnie
We headed North on the A1 (Great North Road) to Stamford in Lincolnshire, lovely day and a good lunch stop.
After lunch we start headed North West, passing Newark, Mansfield and Chesterfield.
Then, we arrived in the Peak District National Park – a nice drive.
Arriving in Buxton at 4.45pm, the clients were happy with the hotel – it’s in a very central location and dinner on the first night was very good.
Chatsworth House today, it was a bit chilly and breezy. The house as usual is a great place to visit as are the grounds and gardens.
We left at around 4pm.
A free day in Buxton and a very nice day weather-wise.
All the guests enjoyed Buxton with the Victorian Pavilion and the architecture which was built to replicate Bath.
Some of the guests went to St Ann’s Well and others to Pooles Cavern, where the Spring is for the ‘Buxton Mineral Water’.
A good meal again, this evening.
Off to Bakewell this morning and I took guests via Tideswell, where we passed the ‘Cathedral of the Peaks’. Guests enjoyed this place. Then it was off to Matlock Bath for lunch and maybe a ride – on the cable car to Abrahams Heights.
Left after breakfast – up to Glossop and down Snake Pass stopping at Ladybower reservoir for coffee – a nice day, then onto the M1, heading South.
A good few days.
