Austrian Tyrol – Ronnie
Saturday: We arrive at the Hotel Asherwirt, Brandenberg, a very pleasant hotel, nice welcome, where dinner was set for 7.15pm but the clients were more than welcome from 6.30pm to enjoy inclusive drinks till 10pm. It was a buffet style dinner, the first night which was very good. Most clients had an early night.
Sunday: The next day, we headed off along the Inn Valley, and then up the Fern Pass, it was a lovely day. We stopped at the pass for coffee and to get some photos of Zugspitze Mountain, thankfully it was a clear day and great for pictures. Shirley, the tour manager, was also with me so clients could have tea and coffee on the coach if required.
After coffee, we drove through Ehrwald onto Bavaria, for lunch and sightseeing, a very good stop. Shirley and I went to the station buffet. (I know how to spoil her!). After lunch, we had a brief stop at the World Cup Ski jump, hadn’t been here for at least 20 years, it was originally built for the 1936 Winter Olympics.
We then enjoyed a nice drive onto Seefeld for our last coffee and sightseeing stop. We then went down the Zirl Pass to the Inn Valley, to return to the hotel for 5.45pm, a good day was had by all, great weather; it was even 26 at one point!
Back at the hotel there was a nice bit of entertainment, two blokes, one with an accordion and the other with a guitar, they were both very talented and played for 3 hours, non stop, I even had a dance myself, with Shirley of course.
Monday: The next day it was off to Innsbruck, a nice morning again. Clients always enjoy their time in Innsbruck. Then it was off to Italy, Vipiteno, where we enjoyed a spectacular ride over The Europabrücke or the Europe Bridge.
Tuesday: Today we went to the Valley floor, then up into the Ziller Valley with a stop at Linda’s Gift Shop, clients on the whole enjoyed, brought many gifts. Then the clients boarded the Zillertal Railway to journey from Fugen for Mayrhofen which the clients and Shirley enjoyed.
In Mayrhofen, we had time for lunch and some of the guests went on the largest cable car in Europe! On the way back we made a sightseeing stop at Rattenberg which is famous for its glassware, lots of outlets for the guests to enjoy.
Wednesday: Today was my free day so Shirley and I along with some of the guests went up the chairlift for lunch and enjoyed some wonderful views, a very relaxing afternoon. Overall a great tour.
